12 Cylinder Engine Swap

Transplanting a 1993 BMW 850ci engine into a 1989 BMW 750iL

Day 1 - Disconnections Several hours of removing the hood, disconnecting hoses, and unplugging wiring.	Day 2 - Removal Removal of radiator, exhaust, driveshaft, subframe, steering box, and finally, lowering the engine out of the car.	Day 3 - Cleaning Cleaning the dirty, filthy, messy parts. Separating the Tranny, and sending it out for a rebuild.
Day 4 - More Cleaning More cleaning of dirty parts. Power washing the engine compartment.	Day 10 - Engine Prep The rebuilt transmission returns and is attached to the new engine. Engine prep work continues.	Days 12 to 35 - New Engine Hoisting the new engine & transmission into the car. Reattaching the cleaned subframe, new driveshaft, exhaust, suspension. Reattaching hoses & wiring. Car comes down off ramps. Waiting for parts. Clean and attach Intakes. More hoses. New plugs. New radiator. All new fluids.
